It’s a new year and it’s time to start working towards your health goals. Exercising is one of the best ways to lose weight, gain energy, and reach your goals.
However, as a busy mom, finding enough time to go to the gym or a fitness class can be challenging.

With so many “get fit quick” diets on the market, you may be wondering why bother to even exercise? Everywhere you look, there are diets, pills, and supplements promising to help you drop weight quickly.
So is exercise really worth it?
Exercise provides loads of benefits that area must for living a long and healthy well-balanced life.
Although wearing a swimsuit is a very good motivator for many of us, there are so many other significant benefits of exercise.

How Much Should You Exercise?
According to the American Heart Association, all you need is 30 minutes!
The American Heart Association recommends adults exercise 30 minutes per day 5 or more days per week.
If you perform high-intensity interval training, you only need about 90 minutes per week.
By achieving this level of fitness, you’ll reduce the risk of heart disease, diabetes, and you’ll feel amazing!
Equipment Required to Workout From Home
Now that we have a better understanding of why to work out and how often to exercise, let’s get started!
All you need to get started exercising from home are a set of weights, like these Power Block Adjustable Dumbells, a mat, and a tablet or Smart TV.
I highly recommend these Power Block Adjustable Dumbells because you get an entire set of dumbells in one.
The set I use ranges from 3 pounds to 24 pounds which is all that I need. They stack neatly into each other so you don’t have a bulky set of dumbells lying around.
Other than weights, I recommend investing in a quality Yoga Mat so you don’t slip and slide while working out. I love this yoga mat which holds up very well to frequent workouts.
Lastly, you need something to stream or watch YouTube on. I personally use my iPad, but a lot of Smart TVs are capable of streaming YouTube as well.
Once you have these 3 items, you’re ready to get started!

Also, for a very low fee, FitnessBlender offers workout plans. These are perfect if you prefer to follow a set schedule instructing you which workouts to do each day.
The plans are easy to follow and once you pay for the plan, it’s yours forever. You can repeat the plans as many times as you’d like.
PopSugar is another favorite at home workout Youtube Channel of mine. It offers a wide variety of workouts so there’s really something for everyone.
PopSugar often hosts guest trainers so the style of workouts is constantly changing and different.
You can find cardio dance workouts, HIIT workouts, kickboxing, Barre, strengthening, and yoga too.
PopSugar also has a website with many health and lifestyle tips.
This is a great channel for beginners who may not have a preference for a style of workout yet. You can try a variety of workouts to figure out what you like best.
If you are looking to try yoga, this channel is the perfect place to start! Adrienne is a young woman from Austin, Texas who records new videos from her home.

HASfit is run by another power couple with a wide variety of free videos. This channel is unique because the husband is a personal trainer and shows the proper technique and the theory behind the workouts.
Most of their workouts include weights, but they also offer some cardio, yoga, and kickboxing workouts.
This channel also offers various programs you can follow including 20 days to get fit, Senior workouts, teen programs and more.
Additionally, HASfit hosts a Facebook Group to help motivate and support you along your fitness journey.

I wanted to continue exercising throughout my

This site was my go-to during pregnancy. She recorded prenatal workouts during both of her pregnancies, so there are many videos to choose from.
